Lots going on and lots of good news!
February is upon us and as the days are getting longer and the bulbs are waking up, I hope you find time to enjoy some peaceful moments among our spring flowers which are beginning to bloom!!
The Café has been open weekends since the start of the year and we are delighted that from Friday the 18th February they will also open Fridays – if you haven’t made it in yet – opening times are 9.30-4pm all their amazing fare is handmade and I can personally whole heartedly recommend the cinnamon buns and from the feedback we have had it looks like whatever you fancy is going to be an absolute treat!
WE are extraordinarily lucky to have such an amazing operator in our lovely local park!
With Spring fast approaching we are looking to get a head start with our stunning wild flower beds and will be running a bed prep session on Saturday 26th February 10-1pm to turn over the beds ready for replanting in March. All tools will be provided – and any time you can spare will be greatly appreciated – it will be hard work (not as bad as last year though!!) so no good for kids – but ANY time you can spare to come along will make a massive difference and hopefully help get some of the amazing wild flower displays we had last year.
School half term this month is split across the next two weeks – True to form we will be running a free of charge hunt in Tiger’s Wood to help get legs stretched, increase time in nature and keep kids and adults busy for a while at least.
There will be Chinese lanterns hanging from the trees with letters that will make a phrase. You can head down and do this any time between 12-27th Feb but if you visit the café while they are open and fill in an entry form you could be in with a chance to win your very own cuddly tiger.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 23rd February 7-8pm at Christ Church on Parrswood Road ALL Welcome but please confirm your attendance if you can!
Our next litter pick and park tidy will be Saturday 26th March 10-12 at the Friends room in the café.
